We spent 7 days at this stunning bio resort in the Sicilian countryside, and it was one of the best hotel experiences – and we’ve stayed at our fair share of high-end boutique hotels across Europe.

 This place is an absolute hidden gem — and while I hesitate to share it (for fear of it becoming too popular), it truly deserves the recognition.

 The resort is intimate and beautifully designed, consisting of a main building with seven rooms, four bungalows a short walk from the main building (70 meters), and with a pool in between. We stayed at a bungalow. Everything was spotless. Attention to details, daily cleaning (of the rooms and the entire area) and a clear sense of pride in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and comfort.

 We travelled as a family (two adults and three children) and from the moment we arrived, we were welcomed as if we were part of the family. The hospitality here is genuine and heartfelt. Every member of the staff radiated warmth, positivity and a sincere desire to make our stay special.

 The location is ideal — a short drive to the charming town of Agrigento with excellent restaurant recommendations from the staff, and many cultural and historical attractions within easy reach. 

 And then there’s the food… Every morning, we had a delicious homemade breakfast, and in the evenings, we had the option to enjoy a four-course dinner — at an very fair price. Everything, including the pasta, was made from scratch by “Nonna” (Grandmother) in the kitchen. This woman is a culinary treasure. 
In short: luxurious yet down-to-earth, elegant yet homey. A place with soul, heart, and top-tier quality in every detail.

We had the most wonderful stay at Fontes Episcopi. Everything was perfect: the room, the swimming pool, the people. The highlight was dinner at the restaurant. Everything was home-made and they even baked gluten-free bread for me (I’m Coeliac). We wish we could have stayed longer. Thank you for everything!

The grounds are beautiful and all the meals were deliciously made with fresh ingredients from the grounds. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Sara was especially lovely and provided us with authentic Sicilian hospitality. We wish we had booked a longer stay!!! Highly recommend!

We had an incredible stay at Fontes Episcopi which completely fulfilled their pledge to "make every guest feel at home". Every member of staff introduces themselves by name and remembers yours. The property is immaculate throughout with gorgeous spacious rooms, lovely comfortable public areas, a fabulous pool, beautiful gardens and quirky decor. It feels like staying in a gorgeous private home. Cooking alongside chef is not not be missed - an incredible experience. Special shout out to Michele who shipped my forgotten iPad back to the UK and to Sara for the incredible wine recommendations and tasting at a nearby vineyard. A wonderful place to stay when visiting Agrigento. We will definitely be back

We travel a lot and have been fortunate to stay in many very special hotels on every continent over the past 60 years. Fontis Episcopi is among the most special of them all. Lovely old property beautifully and sensitively restored, in gorgeous countryside, with staff who all go several extra miles to make your stay as perfect as possible because (at least, it seems this way) they want to make you happy, not because they’ve been told to.
