Staying at The Oberoi Amarvilas in Agra was a privilege and an unforgettable experience. It is widely regarded as one of the most iconic hotels in India, and perhaps even the world! Amarvilas combines luxury with the magic of its proximity to the Taj Mahal. The hotel's location is unrivaled, being the only luxury property situated so close to the Taj Mahal. Its USP is that every single room offers a view of Taj. I had the privilege of staying in a corner room with a balcony, which provided stunning, uninterrupted views of the Taj Mahal. The property itself is breathtaking. The architecture and design of the hotel evoke the grandeur of Mughal palaces, with beautiful gardens and intricate details at every corner. The pool area comes to life at night, bathed in soft lighting, giving the atmosphere of an ancient temple! The dining at both Bellevue and Esphahan was excellent. The dishes were not only delicious but also beautifully presented. The breakfast spread was particularly impressive, with a wide range of options that catered to every palate. The attention to detail in both the food and service truly stood out. The staff, especially at the reception, were incredibly friendly and welcoming. Another advantage of staying here is that you get transfers in a private buggy/golf cart to and from the Taj Mahal! In the morning, the hotel provides a thoughtful bag with water bottles and shoe covers for guests heading to the monument. After returning, a wet towel is provided at the entrance! (so much pampering!! :) ). Overall, I had a great stay at the Oberoi Amarvilas! The combination of the hotel’s iconic status, proximity to the Taj Mahal, impeccable service, and stunning views make it an experience that should be on every traveler’s list!

We went to The Oberoi Amarvilas recently to celebrate our parents’ wedding anniversary. Having stayed at Rajvilas and Udaivilas earlier - we checked into the hotel with very high expectations. And I’m happy to report that the overall experience was way beyond our expectations! As soon as you check in - you’re greeted warmly and directly taken to their magnificent tea lounge where you see the Taj Mahal in its full glory. The checkin formalities and hotel orientation are done here and from here you move to your room. The room screams class and luxury. And the best part is that each room offers direct view of the Taj Mahal. I may be wrong but I think that the glass on the room windows have a very slight magnifying feel that gives you an even better feel of the Taj Mahal. If true, then this was such a brilliant thought! The hotel upkeep is on point - its gardens, common areas, lobby are all very well kept, grand and give a very royal feel. The restaurants are excellent - both the Indian and all day dining. The menu is elaborate and whatever items we ordered were very tasty. Their breakfast buffet is terrific! Last but not the least - it is always the service and the warmth that sets The Oberoi apart from its competitors. Amarvilas is no different. From the minute you arrive till the time you leave - you’re treated like royalty. From the front office to housekeeping, from the f&b team to the chefs, from the gardeners to the guards - everyone greets you with a smile, a genuine smile. And in their capacity they do everything to make your stay special. Our whole stay was peppered with instances of genuine warmth and kindness from the wonderful people at the hotel. I’d like to thank Arpan for planning our stay so meticulously; Tilak, Chef Manik, Anjali, Emma, Sanjok for ensuring we were always very well looked after whenever we dined at any of the restaurants; Rahul, Deepak, Paras, Virender, Mukesh, Rohit for ensuring our rooms were always neat and tidy and well decorated; Akshat and Samantha for a such warm welcome and farewell respectively. Lastly would also recommend to book Taj Mahal tour from the hotel - they provide private sunrise tours via their golf cart (till the Taj East Gate) accompanied by a guide. Mr Kishore Gupta was our guide not just for our trip to Taj but also to Fathepur Sikri. I’d recommend him for the sheer treasure of knowledge and stories he has to share! To conclude - our stay at The Amarvilas was nothing short of a dream. You cannot go wrong with The Oberois. Please book their room with balcony if budget allows. Higher floors offer better views. Try the Thali at their Indian Restaurant, and definitely go for the sunrise trip to the Taj.

We revisited this property in May this year while on our all india trip.Initally the stay was for one night,but the management surprised us by upgrading us to their unique signature luxury suite(one below the kohinoor suite)which costed approx 4 lacs per night plus taxes.The suite was very spacious(1800 sq ft)and had the best views of taj mahal from all sides.It had 2 balconies, one large balcony accessible from the living room and another one from the washroom area,back of the suite with garden like setup with flowering plants and the iconic taj mahal view.The living room and the dining area was vast,with luxury chandeliers giving it a regal vibe.It also had one small kitchenette like facility next to the living room.The bedroom and a large luggage room or wardrobe area is what followed next,then came their one of a kind washroom with a panoramic rain shower and a large bathtub,both directly facing the taj mahal.This meant you could bathe in either of them,enjoying the view of the 7th wonder of the world.It was the best washroom we had ever seen in any 5 star hotel across all the properties we ventured in the past.Altogether,it was a wonderful suite and we were delighted to stay in it.I requested the gm Mr Malhotra to extend our stay for 3 more nights,which he did very Swiftly.We were welcomed with garlands and multiple staff members in the entrance to greet us,and the room division manager Mr Arpan Rawal who himself came to receive us.it was a grand welcome and we appreciate the team for such wonderful delight.After quickly checking our suite and extending our stay,we came down to the restaurant Belle Vue(their all day dining restaurant,no buffet only ala carte)to have lunch.As we are Bengalis,we were craving bengali style food for many months so I asked if there was an bengali chef working in the property,as I needed to customize some of the items.Chef Dibyendu came to meet us,who prepared rice,daal and certain curry items in bengali style,to cater to our palate,and his culinary skills amazed us very much.He is a genius chef with very good cooking skills.Do ask for him while dining in the restaurant.After lunch and a quick nap in our room,we went to check out taj mahal in the evening.The hotel provides complimentary golf cart to taj mahal entry gate and it works nice.The chauffer left us at the ticket counter and told us to call him when we come back.After visiting the taj,we came back to the same spot in half and hour and he was waiting for us.We went to the hotel and after spending some time at our room balcony,we retired for the day.While leaving for taj,we had left a soiled and dirty room behind,and I had spilled lots of water from the tub while bathing and it was a complete mess all over.When we came back,we saw hk had done an excellent job in cleaning the room and also replenished all the amenities we used.The housekeeping service is certainly commendable here.Houskeepping was fast and effective throughout our stay and the executive hou

Amarvilas is located right by the Taj. In fact, you can see and enjoy Taj Mahal from the balcony of your room! Amazing views! We spent two nights there and were touched by the hospitality and warmth of the staff. Amazing team which goes above and beyond to address your needs and concerns. The pool is fantastic. And we will never be able to forget the local folk dance hosted by the hotel. We will surely be coming again in times to come. Thank you for the hospitality!

From the moment we arrived to a warm welcome, a cold refreshment and Indian dancers performing in front of the backdrop of the Taj Mahal, we knew this would be a special stay. Our rooms were upgraded to balcony rooms overlooking the pool and the Taj Mahal in the background, beautifully appointed, well maintained and special touches in the room for my birthday. Esphahan was fully booked at the time we wanted to eat but they kindly gave us the same menu to choose from in the Bellevue restaurant. The Restaurant Manager talked to us about Indian wines which we were unfamiliar with and he gave us some tastings - both sauvignon blanc and the french merlot style red were really nice. Food also delicious. The pool and grounds are stunning but the star of the show is the staff. Highly recommend this hotel, not one negative.
