We loved our time at Black Rock. We traveled with our 2 teens and their friends. We stayed in adjoining cabins 19/20 which are perfect for traveling with kids. These rooms also have great proximity to the beach/rope swing. The rooms are clean and well appointed. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The food and service were excellent. The drive in is a lot of fun, too.

Superb experience. A very unique lodge, nestled on 200+ undeveloped acres, and across the river from a national park. It is surrounded by nature and beauty. We are not “birders”, but many of the guests are. We used the Lodge to take day trips to the ATM Cave — a must do experience — and the nearby Xunantanich Mayan ruins — also very good. We also spent 1.5 days just enjoying the Lodge’s facilities. We hiked their extensive and challenging trails, enjoyed great jungle views, saw lots of wildlife, explored a cave and exercised endlessly. We also saw the nearby waterfall, tubed the river falls, kayaked, swam, took the night-time nature hike. The staff is very friendly, and they’re incredibly passionate about nature and wildlife. They led us on several tours. The lodging was great; our cabin had air conditioning, though not all do. The meals are very good, and the dining area is a beautiful structure. Overall a superb experience. The only limitation is that the Lodge is 10 miles from San Ignacio. You can get there via Lodge vans, though, and we never felt isolated. Anyways, the town is cute, but it cannot compare to the Lodge’s natural setting of the Lodge. I’d stay at the Black Rock Lodge over an in-town resort of hotel every time. I highly recommend it.

We had such an amazing time at Black Rock Lodge! Special thanks to Jeffrey our driver from the airport to the lodge and Emir who took care of organizing our breakfast boxes before our tours and ensuring dinners ran smoothly and at our own pace every night! All the staff is extremely friendly and would say hi every time you crossed their path. We really enjoyed the night and birding tours. I am sure based on everyone one we met that their other tours are also great. One thing to note is that dinners are not cheap but it would be difficult to get anywhere else for meals.

Unique accommodation in the heart of the rainforest. The food here is delicious with the most amazing view from the restaurant and lodges . The staff are all super helpful and friendly. Our lodge was basic but comfortable with a brilliant view. All the trips taken with Black Rock lodge were really well organised and informative. This place was definitely one of our Belize highlights and we wouldn't hesitate to go back. They have their own farm with free range chickens, so you know the food is fresh. You can swim in the river next to the lodges and play on the rope swing. We stayed for three nights, but wish we had booked for longer as there is so much to see and do.

Would absolutely stay there again. Had cabin #15 which was private with a great view. Wouldn’t change a thing. The staff members are incredible and completely connected with the surrounding environment and wildlife. The owner has created such a wonderful and fulfilling environment for his team to flourish within. Loved the location! Three great hikes right from the lodge. Bird watching in the morning while eating breakfast. Never failed, the staff would find a toucan or eagle for us to watch.

Amazing service. Always on time. Phenomenal food. Henery was our guide and driver. He was extremely knowledgeable and spoke perfect English. Shout out to Emilker at the bar as well for his help.
