We booked this place in February for two nights in June. I did also wanted to book the two nights a week later on the journey back but it was already sold out so we ended up in Old Town. We did get a room in the same building as the reception, but only to be reached from the outside. The hostel was clean and nothing was broken. The room was not large but good enough. The window could be opened and was protected by a mosquito net. The free wifi was good (with no malfuctions at all) in our room and in the canteen. We could choose between two bathrooms/toilets in our part of the building. They were not occupied when needed. There were some mosquito's in one of the bathrooms. The kitchen, next to the reception, was very complete, including cooking equipment, magnetron, crockery and even a dishwasher. We did prepare a meal our self in the kitchen. The breakfast was just ok. Strange thing was that on the second day we sent away because they wanted to vacuum the canteen. The room did cost 144 euro a night. But everything in Greenland is expensive, so it is hard to say if this is too much or not. The supermarket was just a short walk away, just like the airport and the 'bus station'. There was only one bus going too Old Camp and the small town on the other side of the airport *****. Only during day time, not in the evening and limited in the weekend. Note that everything was closed on 21th of June, except the restaurant in the airport building (and the restaurant in the hotel I guess). The airport restaurant was the best option for lunch and dinner. The reception has limited service times but this was not a problem. The reception did sell some souvenirs. Two shops close to the airport and one inside did also sell (expensive) souvenirs. Both, Polar Lodge and Old Camp are managed by Albatros. This company also offer several tours. We did the Ice Cap Point 660 tour and a week later the terrific tour to the same location, but with a walk of 4 hours on the ice. This plan did work out well, because the first time we did get snow on the ice cap and the second time sun. Beside the tours, nothing interesting can be done around the lodge. There are no nice short hikes directly in the neighborhood. In my opinion; Polar Lodge is highly recommended above Old Camp!
