The Tour
Founded in 1451, the University of Glasgow is the fourth-oldest university in the English-speaking world. Originally located on High Street in the city centre near Glasgow Cathedral, in 1870 it moved to the stunning collection of buildings perched upon Gilmorehill today, where it continues to watch over the bustling city and picturesque tenements of Glasgow’s West End.
This walking tour will take you on a fascinating journey around some of the university’s most significant spots - from philosopher Thomas Reid’s tombstone and the atmospheric cloisters to the very same staircase Lord Kelvin would take from his house to his laboratory - whilst discovering the connections of James Watt, Adam Smith and Isabella Elder whose names are inscribed on the university’s Memorial Gates.

Tickets  can be purchased via Eventbrite  in advance of the tour on by credit/debit card  at the Welcome Point McIntyre Building or to the guide just before the tour departs.

Private Groups
Due to the number of scheduled tours being reduced we are currently offering private tours for 2 people or more, these can be booked  on any day  between 9am and 5pm. 
Private tours  can be booked by emailing the addresses below, but please try and give us 24hrs notice to organise you a guide.

Find Us
Leaving from the East Undercroft  near the Visitor Centre which is situated within the main building, just through the gates on University Avenue.
The University is in the West End of the city, 2 miles from the city centre and round the corner from Byres Road and Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum.
Bus: First Bus 4 and 4A stop directly outside.
Subway: Hillhead station - 5 minute walk.
Train: Partick station - 20 minute walk.
Car: Pay and display on surrounding streets.
Access
Assistance dogs are permitted in all areas. The majority of the tour is accessible for wheelchair users, although the route will deviate slightly to accommodate lift access.
Due to the nature of University business access to all rooms cannot be guaranteed on all days.
Refreshments
Our guides would be more than happy to let you into the SRC’s Gilchrist Postgraduate Club after your tour if you fancy a coffee or a panini, open 10am-4pm Monday-Friday. 
The Club serves a selection of hot and cold beverages, paninis, sandwiches, nachos and a lovely range of home-baking. Currently this is operating on a takeaway bases only

우리는 1월의 어느 일요일 오후에 즉흥적으로 이곳을 방문했고, 철저히 즐겼습니다. 우리 꼬마는 &quot;구식 집&quot;을 보는 것을 좋아했고, 계산대에서 아파트까지, 그리고 다시 돌아오는 모든 직원들이 매우 잘 돌봐주었습니다.

우리는 두 번이나 돌아다녔고(방문 사이에 교대 근무를 했습니다!) 글래스고에서 의심할 여지 없이 수천 개의 이와 비슷한 이야기를 한 가지 통찰력으로 엿볼 수 있어서 환상적이었습니다. 게다가 우리 아들은 자신의 월리 굴에 색칠하는 것을 철저히 즐겼습니다. 가넷힐을 돌아다닐 만한 숨은 보석입니다.

이 박물관은 꼭 방문해야 할 곳입니다. 특히 저는 이 박물관의 유화 작품들을 좋아합니다. 작품을 보고 나면 시각적인 즐거움이 엄청납니다. 초등학생과 중학생들이 가장 좋아하는 곳이기도 합니다.

글래스고 대성당

天羽博士

그 유래는 유명한 윌리엄 컨퀘스트(William Conquest) 시대로 거슬러 올라간다고 합니다. 샌디에이고를 기념하기 위해 건립된 것으로 수백년이 걸렸고 지금까지 거의 천년이 지났습니다. 스코틀랜드에서 가장 오래된 종교 건물이다. 관광객들이 꼭 가봐야 할 곳이기도 하다.

조지 광장

조지 광장은 글래스고 도심에 위치하고 있으며 기차나 지하철로 매우 편리하게 접근할 수 있습니다. 날씨가 좋은 날에는 광장에서 일광욕을 즐기며 비둘기를 구경하실 수 있습니다. 기념품, 옷, 신발, 양말을 구입할 수 있는 유명한 쇼핑 거리와 가깝습니다. 선택할 수 있는 레스토랑과 식당도 많이 있습니다. 
조지 광장은 꼭 봐야 할 명소입니다. 광장의 건축물을 감상하는 것 외에도 크리스마스와 같은 다양한 축제 기간에는 광장이 크리스마스 시장으로 바뀌어 역동적이고 행복한 분위기로 변합니다.
