Thoughtcast Collective Presents: Artist Vs. Moth What does it mean to seek the light, right now? And how can we do that without getting caught in the flame? Artist vs Moth is the experimental result of months-long collaborations between the visual artists, musicians, writers and actors of Thoughtcast Collective.  Expect poems interacting with sound and art, choreographed comedy sketches, Sufi-inspired DJ sets mixed with live singing and poetry, surreal films featuring disappearing artists and more, all inspired by the ancient symbol of the moth. Performances by poets Zia Ahmed and Katie O’Pray, DJs Aquamarine and Kiah Grant, playwright Omar Bynon, actor Luanda Yasmin, photographer Shauna McCallion, illustrator Sophie Ibotson, filmmaker Bree Bracey, and musicians Elina Shakaut and Hassan Mallick (Nirvana Principle). Warmly hosted by writer and designer Sarabi Hawke and curated by Barbican Young Poet Marianne Habeshaw, with production support by Saygal Yusuf, Julia Bird, Andrea Shortell & Helen Bowell. Thoughtcast Collective is a majority-neuroqueer community of independent artists working across film, poetry, music and visual art. Every year, we produce an annual multidisciplinary showcase of our artists’ collaborative work, moving from our values of art for art’s sake, collaboration, community and social impact. Artists vs Moth is our fourth show. Why the moth? As artists working in 2025, we feel a kinship with this creature’s fragile but risk-taking existence. What does it mean to seek the light, right now? And how can we do that without getting caught in the flame?
