The Body As A Two Way Mirror workshop series delves into the connection between our bodies and the environment, focusing this season on the element of metal. Metal, represented by the lungs and large intestine in Chinese Medicine, embodies themes of grief and loss. Chloe Sobejko and Tiana Demetriou lead an exploration into this element through acupuncture, shiatsu therapy, sensory feedback practices, and interdisciplinary discussions. By examining how our internal state reflects the external world using the five elements - fire, earth, metal, water, and wood, participants gain insight into the profound relationship between body and surroundings. Hosted at Green Monday Studios in Carlton, on Wurundjeri Woi wurrung Country, the event respects the land's traditional custodians, the Woi Wurrung Wurundjeri people. Acknowledging that sovereignty remains unresolved, the workshop aims to contribute to a fairer and more inclusive future for all.
