Adapted from one of Terry Pratchett’s most beloved and enduring novels, the title taken from John Knox’s famous misogynist paper, it is inspired in part by famed Edinburgh-based Military Surgeon, Dr James Barry, who upon his death was discovered to have been assigned female at birth. The play explores themes of gender expression and identity, as well as being staunchly anti-war.
