Join artist and sculptor Mark Lester at MOCA Jacksonville's 5th floor studio for the Seize the Clay Ceramics Workshop, a recurring monthly event held on the fourth Saturday of every month. This ceramics workshop is perfect for artists of all abilities who want to develop their hand building and glazing skills. The class provides low-fire clay, tools, and basic glaze options, but students are welcome to bring their own tools and low-fire glazes if desired. Each class attended includes kiln firing of one small piece completed in the workshop. 

Geared towards adults, this workshop is also open to teens when accompanied by an adult. The workshop will take place from 1-3 p.m. and costs $20 for MOCA members and $30 for non-members. Supplies are included in the ticket price. Please note that there will not be a class in December. 

The Seize the Clay Ceramics Workshop will be led by Mark Lester, an artist and sculptor with a passion for capturing the expansive and deep natural environments of Northeast Florida. Having studied Fine Arts at UNF and served as MOCA's Student Artist-in-Residence, Lester brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to his teaching. He has recently returned to Jacksonville after traveling and working in Europe, and he is excited to share his expertise in ceramics with the community.
