Known as the father of the madrigal and one of the greatest composers of the Renaissance, William Byrd's choral works are truly exceptional. This captivating event will feature a delightful combination of choral music accompanied by a consort of five violas da gamba. Seicento will showcase Byrd's lesser-known compositions, including sacred verse anthems and secular consort songs, bringing to life the enchanting melodies that tell tales of courtly love, moral temptations, and the lament of misspent youth. Joining Seicento on stage will be five exceptionally talented gamba players: Hannah Robbins, Zoe Weiss, Sarah Graf, Sarah Biber, and Karl Reque.
