Join artists Dayle Palfreyman and August Ward in conversation with Kaiāwhina Whakaaturanga Assistant Curator Robbie Handcock about their work in our current exhibition Permissions. This is an opportunity to hear the artists discuss their practices and the processes behind this presentation, offering insight into the technical and conceptual detail of their work.  RSVP is encouraged but not required. WHAT TO EXPECT This event is free.

Dayle Palfreyman moved to Tāmaki Makaura from Te Whanganui-a-Tara in recent years, and works across sculpture, installation and video. Dayle’s sculptural practice has primarily used metal, concrete, wood and beeswax to create environments that explore the edges of bodily autonomy through the tensions between the industrial and natural materials employed. Dayle graduated from Massey University in 2020 with a BFA (Hons) and has had exhibitions at play_station in 2020, City Gallery Wellington in 2022, at Enjoy Contemporary Art Space in 2022 and 2023, and the Physics Room in 2024. August Ward grew up in Tāmaki Makaurau and completed her MFA from the Elam School of Fine Arts in 2023. August’s painting practice is concerned with the visual markers of affluence and aspirational consumerism, in particular the emblems of fashion, beauty, interior design and reality TV. Working in oil and graphite, these symbols become pictorial playthings for colour, composition, and surface. August has exhibited in artist-run spaces and galleries, including Melanie Roger, Paper Anniversary, Envy, Paludal and Ivan Anthony (upcoming).

SEALIFE 아쿠아리움은 다양한 전시와 동물들을 볼 수 있는 재미있고 흥미로운 곳이었습니다. 특히 펭귄 전시는 귀여웠고, 가까이서 직접 만져볼 수 있었습니다. 다만 아쿠아리움이 좀 작아서 대부분의 전시를 45분 정도 만에 볼 수 있었습니다. 더 클 거라고 예상했거든요. 그래도 재밌는 곳이긴 했지만, 오클랜드에서 꼭 가봐야 할 곳은 아닐 것 같습니다.

오클랜드 도심에서 불과 5km 떨어진 곳에 있는 Mt Eden은 오클랜드에서 가장 높은 화산입니다. 마지막 분화는 약 15,000년 전으로, 50Mt 깊이의 분화구를 남겼습니다. Mt Eden 화산 꼭대기까지 걸어가면 비가 오지 않는 한 오클랜드의 360도 전망을 감상할 수 있습니다.

동물들이 낮에 더워서 숨어있는 경우가 많아 잘 찾아봐야해요..성인들도 동심으로 돌아가 힐링할수 있어요..오클랜드여행 필수코스..뉴질랜드 국조 키위가 어두운곳에서만 있어서 실물을 제대로 볼 수 없어서 아쉬었어요&hellip;거북이와 남생이가 다르게 생긴걸 처음 알았고, 남생이 실물은 처음 봤네요&hellip;5시에 묻닫기 때문에 제대로 천천히 즐기려면 적어도 1시전에는 도착하도록 가는걸 추천합니다..생각보다 엄청 넓고 많이 걸어야 하니 편한 복장에 하이킹용 신발 신고 가서 동물들과 교감하시길&hellip;주의-절대 먹이를 주지 마세요 동물원규정
