This intensive training includes 7 hours of blended learning beforehand to equip participants with the necessary skills to save lives poolside. To enroll, participants must be at least 15 years old by the final day of the class and present their completed blended coursework certificate. The course involves passing Red Cross swim tests, including a 300-yard nonstop swim, treading water for 2 minutes, and a timed weight-retrieval drill. It is recommended to condition yourself for the swim tests before the class. Refunds are available up to 7 days before the start date, with no refunds thereafter for no-shows or inability to meet requirements. Participants are advised to bring necessary items to the class, including a blended learning certificate, swimsuit, snacks, water, sun protection, towels, and extra clothing. Additionally, an opportunity to join as a part-time Private Event Lifeguard is available for those with the required experience.
