Join Suzanne Clores, podcaster and nonfiction writer, for an immersive two-week writing workshop titled "Let's Get Lost: Finding Your Way Through an Unfinished Essay" at Bookends & Beginnings in Evanston, IL. This workshop is designed to guide participants through the often daunting process of writing an essay, offering techniques to navigate through challenges and discover new pathways. Writers of all experience levels are welcome, but it is recommended to have a regular writing practice. In the first session, Suzanne will delve into the complex nature of writing, using examples from published works and her own personal experiences to demonstrate how to transform a chaotic idea into a publishable piece. Participants will also engage in a writing exercise from over a century ago. By the end of the session, Suzanne will provide an assignment to help shed light on the challenges faced and potentially provide a way forward. The second session will include a workshop where participants can share and learn from each other's exercises, as well as explore the process of blending new and existing work. Bookends University workshops aim to foster connections among attendees, promote authors, and encourage book purchases.
