Led by the talented co-founders of Alchemy, Maria Michaelson, and Shamanic Healing Practitioner Jane Carr, this unique class offers a transformative journey of self-discovery.

Throughout the four sessions, attendees will uncover the layers of their true selves, shedding masks and embracing authenticity. The adventure begins with the creation of plaster casts, setting the stage for intentions and fostering a sense of camaraderie among participants. In the following class, the plaster masks become a canvas for self-expression, as paint is skillfully applied, allowing for the release of any habits that no longer serve us. A guided drum meditation will accompany the art-making process, facilitating a deeper connection with the creative self.

The third session takes a fascinating turn as the plaster masks serve as molds for clay self-portraits. This transformative exploration enables participants to mold their true selves into tangible works of art. Finally, the journey concludes with a ceremonial closing circle, where the clay masks are glazed, finished, and raku fired. This profound experience promises to be both enlightening and enjoyable.

Hosted at the ceramics studio on the AAC campus in Friday Harbor, this four-part class is a must-attend event. The sessions will take place on January 5th, 6th, 7th, and 9th, from 6-8pm. Early registration is highly recommended, as it ensures the class meets the minimum requirements to proceed.
