Join Adrian Jackson, Boal's renowned translator, for an immersive day exploring the fundamentals of Theatre of the Oppressed. This introductory workshop is designed to familiarize participants with Augusto Boal's methodology, including Image and Forum Theatre. Through engaging games and exercises, attendees will cultivate dialogue and gain confidence as a group. Armed with newfound tools and techniques, you'll be able to immediately apply what you've learned to your own work, building confidence and preparing for further exploration of Theatre of the Oppressed. This workshop is open to all who are interested in harnessing the transformative power of theatre to effect change, regardless of prior experience. Under the guidance of Adrian Jackson, MBE, STOP Co-Founder and Lead Facilitator, you'll benefit from his extensive collaboration with Boal and his expertise in using theatre to address issues of homelessness, inequity, and poverty. The event will take place on 8th December 2023, from 10am to 6pm, at the Brady Arts and Community Centre in London. Ticket prices are as follows: £160 for general admission, £145 for charity/non-profit organizations/established freelancers (use code: FreelanceNPO), and £99 for emerging freelancers/students (use code: FreelanceStudent).
