Join the Impressive Blooms: Gelli Monoprint + Letterpress workshop at Sehmel Homestead Park in Gig Harbor, WA on March 23, 2024. Led by experienced artists Lea Basile-Lazarus and Jessica Spring, this workshop offers an introduction to two printmaking techniques: Monoprint and letterpress. Participants will have the opportunity to explore the monotype technique using Gelli plates in combination with an antique letterpress to create stunning prints inspired by the season.

During the workshop, participants will learn how to create monoprints using acrylic paint and natural objects or found materials to add layers and textures. These monoprints can be used as standalone pieces or combined with the letterpress print process. The letterpress printing will utilize an antique letterpress featuring text set from vintage wood and metal type. Collage and painting techniques can also be used to further enhance the prints and make them truly unique.

All necessary materials will be provided, and each participant will receive a mini Gelli print kit to continue their printing exploration at home.
