Join the fascinating in-person event, "Boxing Fitness for Adults with/at risk of Type 2 Diabetes," and embark on a journey towards better health. This FREE program is designed to empower adults with or at risk of Type 2 Diabetes to enhance their overall well-being through structured exercise based on non-contact boxing or boxercise. Over the course of 24 weeks, our Boxing Fitness for Type 2 Diabetes Program aims to motivate adults of all ages to adopt and maintain active lifestyles, effectively combating health issues such as heart disease, obesity, and the risk of Type 2 diabetes.

To ensure a personalized experience, participants will begin the program by completing a Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire (PAR-Q), which will identify any health concerns and allow our coaches to assess individual goals. In Phase 1, participants will acquire boxing skills while focusing on fitness, endurance, and core strength. In Phase 2, individuals will reassess their initial goals and establish new targets, which will be monitored through self-assessment and peer reviews during the latter weeks of the program.

Upon completion of the program, participants will be provided with information on ways to maintain an active lifestyle, such as local gyms and boxing clubs. The anticipated outcomes of this event are improvements in fitness levels, mental health and well-being, and blood glucose control for individuals with and at risk of Type 2 diabetes. We are proud to announce that this event is sponsored by the Greenwich Get Active Small Grants Fund.
