Founder of Ecstatic Dance Brighton and co-founder of Avalon Dance Odyssey she is a community innovator and leader. Her dances are also to be experienced at Ecstatic Dance UK, Ecstatic Dance Bristol, Samsara Retreat plus festivals such as Good Vibrations, Buddhafields, Medicine Woman & Heart of the Rose. She has been running wellbeing community experiences since May 2020. Prior to that she was a Taoist Movement & Wellbeing Practitioner for 7 years and Art Therapist and mentor for 4 years. Anna-Lisa is ‘a natural space holder’ with a deep love of creating transformation, expression and expansion through movement and music. We recommend avoiding caffeine intakeon the day and timing your meals so that you are not too full. You can see this as an offering of respect to the Spirit of Cacao. So you should feel a great sense of well-being and relaxation during and at the end of our dances. Move at your own pace, wherever the music takes you! You may wish to sit/lay down for some of the time & that’s fine too! Some might want to dance together others may wish to get into a zone on their own with the vibe and music. All are welcome. Our venue is wheelchair accessible, please contact our organiser in advance so that we can accomodate your needs, including ensuring ramped access (portable ramp put down, removed to give access to others). We encourage those recovering from an injury to join us, and visualise their best dance, there is strong evidence that if we visualise an activity such as dancing our muscle memory, physical and mental health and overall wellbeing can support our recovery . What to Wear and Bring: We dance barefoot and best to wear comfy clothing you would ordinarily wear to dance freely/attend a yoga class.Water bottle. There is a kitchen close to the dance floor where you can refill.Blanket/shawl - you may wish to bring something to wrap yourself up in for comfort/containment at the end.Yoga mat - you may wish to bring a mat with you, again mainly for comfort at the end if you prefer this to sitting on our wooden floor.Disclaimer: the organiser will do her best to keep the space as safe as possible for everyone.
