In this captivating event, Chloe Bensahel, a renowned artist and 2023-24 Ida Ely Rubin Artist in Residence, will showcase her unique approach to weaving conductive thread into tapestries, enabling her to tell captivating stories through the interplay of sound and light. Following Bensahel's presentation, MIT faculty and collaborators will come together to explore the exciting possibilities of creative coding tools for artistic expression. The conversation, expertly moderated by Zach Lieberman, leader of the Future Sketches group and Adjunct Associate Professor of Media Arts and Sciences at MIT, will feature esteemed individuals such as Frannie Logan, Textile Technologist at Advanced Functional Fabrics of America (AFFOA), and Vera van de Seyp, a Master of Arts and Science candidate at MIT Media Lab and a researcher in the Future Sketches group.
