About the Lecture:
A sequel to Michael Walsh’s Last Stands, his new book A Rage to Conquer is a journey through the twelve of the most important battles in Western history. As Walsh sees it, war is an important facet of every culture – and, for better or worse, our world is unthinkable without it. War has been an essential part of the human condition throughout history, the principal agent of societal change, waged by men on behalf of, and in pursuit of, their gods, women, riches, power, and the sheer joy of combat.
In A Rage to Conquer, Walsh brings history to life as he considers a group of courageous commanders and the battles they waged that became crucial to the course of Western history. He looks first at Carl Von Clausewitz, the seminal thinker in the Western canon dealing with war. He then moves on to Achilles at Ilium, Alexander at Gaugamela, Caesar at Alesia, Constantine at the Milvian Bridge, Aetius at the Catalaunian Plains, Bohemond at Dorylaeum and Antioch, Napoleon at Austerlitz, Pershing at St.-Mihiel, Nimitz at Midway and Patton at the Bulge with a final consideration of how the Battle of 9/11 was ultimately lost by the U.S. and what that portends for the future.
About the Speaker:
The author of more than fifteen novels and non-fiction books, 
Michael Walsh
 was the classical music critic for Time Magazine and received the 2004 American Book Awards prize for fiction for his gangster novel, And All the Saints in 2004. His popular columns for National Review written under the pseudonym David Kahane were developed into the book, Rules for Radical Conservatives. His books The Devil’s Pleasure Palace and The Fiery Angel, examine the enemies, heroes, triumphs and struggles of Western Civilization from the ancient past to the present time. He divides his time between Connecticut and Ireland.

국회의사당을 방문하려면 미리 예약을 하고 티켓을 구매해야 합니다. 요구 사항에 따라 정해진 시간에 도착해야 합니다. 사람이 많으니 일정에 차질이 없도록 미리 도착하시기 바랍니다. 중국 투어는 사전에 예약할 수 있습니다. 중국 투어이긴 하지만, 외국인 투어 가이드는 영어로 말하고, 통역기를 사용해서 중국어로 번역한 후 우리에게 재생해주는데, 매우 흥미로웠습니다. 국회의사당의 내부도 건물 자체의 관점에서 볼 때 아름답습니다. 방문 시 반드시 설명을 따라야 합니다.

내셔널 몰

국립 광장은 워싱턴 관광에 꼭 필요한 곳입니다. 한쪽은 링컨 기념관, 다른 한쪽은 워싱턴 기념비입니다. 중간에는 물웅덩이와 양쪽에 녹지 공간이 있습니다. 제2 차 세계 대전 승리 기념비, 베트남 전쟁 및 기타 기념비, 제퍼슨 기념관 등이 있습니다. 매년 열리는 워싱턴 벚꽃 축제의 아름다운 벚꽃도 이곳에서 만발합니다. 우리는 4 월 말에 워싱턴에 도착했습니다. 불행히도 벚꽃은 패배했고 흔적은 남지 않았습니다. 만개한 장면이 아름답다고 상상할 수 있습니다.

9/11 이후 백악관이 대중에게 공개되지 않았다고 들었는데, 우리가 거기에 갔을 때 우리는 울타리 밖에서만 볼 수 있었기 때문에 백악관은 &quot;여기 방문&quot; 관광객이 되었습니다. 체크인 사진.

백악관 남쪽에는 큰 소나무가 있는데 의외로 &#39;랜드마크&#39;이자 &#39;국가 크리스마스 트리&#39;이기도 하다... 뭐, 크리스마스 때 꼭 가봐야 할 것 같다.

링컨 기념관
