Join author Katherine MacInnes for an enlightening Author Talk titled 'Snow Widows', as she shares the untold stories of the women left behind by Captain Scott's tragic Terra Nova Expedition. Taking place at RRS Discovery and Discovery Point in Dundee on 10th February 2024 at 5pm, this event promises to offer a fresh and unique perspective on the renowned British Antarctic Expedition of 1910-1913.

With never-before-seen archive material, MacInnes sheds light on the lives, loves, and losses of these women who were thrust into the public eye by tragedy and shaped by the prevailing culture of empire. The backdrop of Captain Scott's first Antarctic ship, Discovery, provides a fitting setting for this captivating Author Talk. Admission to the event is by donation, with a suggested donation of £6. By supporting Dundee Heritage Trust, an independent charity, you contribute to the preservation and education efforts as well as the inspiring events hosted by the Trust.

Please note that admission to Discovery Point is not included in this event. Tickets for the museum can be purchased online or on the day from the friendly front of house staff. Dundee Heritage Trust reserves the right to make changes to the event as necessary, and tickets cannot be exchanged or refunded, except in the case of a cancelled workshop or event. Photographs may be taken during the event for promotional purposes.
