If you love cats and are visiting Rome, make a point to walk by. The city had been digging up three minor temples where I guess they decided they weren't important or interesting enough to locals or tourists, so they gave them to a cat sanctuary. Now you can see dozens of feral kitties lounging and playing all over these temples. You can go down and make a donation to see it closer, but it smells like a hundred litter box down there.
You will find there a lot of bus stops to go everywhere, and while you are waiting, you can admire the ancient Roman Ruins in front of you.
Cats decoratively stretched out on ruins. Heaven for a cat lover. Feral cats romp near an adjacent cat sanctuary that helps Rome's cats who need veterinary care or may be adoptable. Worth a donation- they are good folks.
A quick look at the ruins of ancient Rome
Sort of a landmark for finding your way around. The ruins are interesting and the Cat Sanctuary is fun. Otherwise, there's traffic all over.
