Really interesting, ornate Hindu temple. Free to enter, but you have to leave your shoes outside.
Loved this place since I was in school, I've come here every now and then for years. It's the oldest temple in Singapore. Look out for the fire walking ceremony in October and morning prayers every day (around 6.30-7.30am, you'll hear the bells and music)... It's really special that this is down the road from a Buddhist temple and located in the heart of Chinatown - I love this place :)
Unfortunately didn't have time to go inside but it looked really impressive from the outside
What a sight in the heart of Chinatown. The exterior of this beautiful Indian temple is filled with detailed sculptures as protection. The temple is colorful inside and out and as you take off your shoes and enter, there is a sense of peace inside to counter the hustle and bustle in Chinatown!
Sri Mariamman Temple is Singapore's oldest Hindu Temple. Located in Chinatown, this temple is almost 200 years old! Breathtaking exterior, and still in good shape. There is a fee to enter the temple, believe to be $3, but it is a good place to visit even if you aren't Hindu, to see the remarkable architecture of this place.
really like it
