Ideal for people doing exercise or yoga here. Enjoy the natural tropical environment.
An oasis of peace in the middle of the city. Fort Canning Park sits atop a small hill right behind the National Museum. The shady trees and quiet paths make this a perfect place to relax in its cool surroundings. The hill was once the site of 14th century Malay kings and served as the headquarters of the Far East Command Centre and British Army Barracks. It was here in a place known as the Battle Box, on the fateful day of 15th February 1942 that the British decided to surrender Singapore to the Japanese. Today it is a serene and peaceful place. Take a walk through the Spice Gardens, go in search of ancient artefacts and visit the museum there. And if you really enjoy the peace, you can stay at the Fort Canning Hotel.Nearest train stations are Dhoby Ghaut, Bras Basah, City Hall and Clark Quay.
