Yunnan Army Lecture Wutang Site is located in the West Chenghua Nursery of Cuihu Lake, Kunming City, founded in 1909. Yunnan Army Lecture Wutang is a famous military academy in the modern history of China. It was originally a military academy set up by the Qing Dynasty to train the new army and strengthen the frontier defense. It is also known as the Beiyang Wutang (Tianjin) in 1906 and the Northeast Wutang (Fengtian) in 1908. Yunnan Lecturing Wutang (later renamed Yunnan Army Lecturing Wutang School) has run 22 periods from 1909 to 1935. Most of the instructors are sergeants studying in Japan. Adhering to the school motto of "perseverance and hard work", the school has become one of the earliest military officer training schools in China. Each period lasts from one and a half to two years, consisting of four arms, namely, step by step, riding, artillery and engineering. Among the graduates, some later became outstanding revolutionary generals, such as Zhu De and Ye Jianying (Ye Shuai graduated with the only "best class" student in the school, see the picture "diploma"). Phase 15 also recruits returned overseas Chinese and students from Korea, Vietnam and other countries. In 1924, Yunnan Army Martial Arts School delivered nearly 60 (%) of its teachers to the Whampoa Military Academy opened by the National Revolutionary Army in Guangzhou. In 1935, Yunnan Army Martial Arts School was adapted as "Kunming Branch of the Central Military Officer School" by Longyun and Director. After the end of the War of Resistance Against Japan, in September 1945, the fifth branch was suspended. Yunnan Army Wutang and Wushu School run 22 sessions, including various training teams and classes, and trained officers of all kinds, with about 9000 sergeants. Later, he became a marshal with more than 300 generals, many of whom were overthrowing the monarchy, the Northern Expedition, the War of Resistance Against Japan and the founding fathers and heroes established for New China. It can be called "Centennial Military Academy, cradle of generals". Today, the main building of Lecture Wutang is a two-storey brick-wood structure with a walking horse turning tower. The east, south, West and North four floors are symmetrically connected, forming a square courtyard with an area of about 144,000 square meters. The East and West buildings are about 119 meters in length and 10 meters in width; the South and North buildings are about 116 meters in length and 7 meters in width and 12 meters in height; and the reading and drilling building in the middle of the south building is about 115 meters in height and 13 meters in width, with a large scale.
