Out of the South Gate of Xiamen University is Nanputuo Temple. Over the back hill of Nanputuo Temple is Wanshi Botanical Garden. The ticket is 40 yuan. It can only be purchased from the ticket office. No ticket can be obtained online. Around the Wanshiyan Reservoir, the Botanical Garden is built with rolling hills, rocky and interesting stones, more cliff carvings, both natural and cultural scenic spots. Walking in the garden is more like a tour in the south of the Yangtze River. Personally, I think it's worth visiting because it's a rare tropical rainforest botanical garden in China. There is a sandy botanical garden with thousands of cactus. It's very characteristic. The total tour time is 2 hours. It can be visited together with Xiamen University and Nanputuo Temple. After the tour, two blocks from the main entrance of the Botanical Garden are the famous Zhongshan Road Pedestrian Street, which is the essence of the old urban area of Xiamen. You can hang around and eat here by the way.
