Located on an outlying island, far from the troubled urban areas, Da'ao is less affected by urbanization. It still retains the fishing village features of early Hong Kong, especially the waterway elevated houses, shacks (where fishermen used to live). The residents of Da'ao are mostly waterborne people. The traditional salted fish, shrimp sauce and fish belly are the must-buy letters from Da'ao. Seafood snacks are also very distinctive. The crisscrossing waterways and water shacks constitute the unique water village style of Da'ao. There are also 500-year-old Guandi Temple and Yanghou Temple in Kangxi Period. Transportation: MTR Tung Chung Station, get off and take the No. 11 New Lantau Bus to Tai O Bus Terminal
