Shen'ao Ancient Town is mainly composed of Shen'ao Ancient Villages, including Xu Fan, Huanxi and Dipu. Shen'ao Ancient Villages are famous for its water system and are built on the verge of Yingjiaxi. Shen'ao Ancient Town is not far from Hangzhou City. It's less than an hour past the weekend. Entering this ancient village, there are no noisy voices, no successive tourists, and even no many local stalls, "commercial flavor" almost nothing. Some are quiet alleys, pure Australian water, and quadrangle courtyards with carved beams and painted buildings. The courtyard is covered with the patio of Daoguang's early years. The inclined sun passes through softly, giving rise to a smell of dust. The winding alleys, the doors, and the occasional bird song or two are just old days without any disturbance. Most of the people in Shen'ao are old people. Walking into a courtyard and tapping on the door, an old man of eighty or ninety will come out and tell you the story of wooden carvings on the beams, doors and windows. Here, you don't have to do anything, just stop and listen to the story. There are still more than 100 ancient buildings in Shen'ao. People in the village still retain the architectural features and living customs of that era. These ancient buildings can be divided into ancestral temples, temples, stages, bridges and folk houses. The interior decoration is gorgeous. The buildings are basically built in the middle and late Qing Dynasty. Most of them are folk houses, some are ancestral temples, temples, stages and bridges. Architectural form is similar, mostly quadrangular courtyard, folk houses can communicate with each other by corner doors, back doors, simple appearance, but beams, doors and windows wood carving is very exquisite.
