Royal Mile is the most famous area in Edinburgh. The main tourist attractions are on this four-street road connecting Castle Hill, Lawnmarket, HighStreet and Canonicate from west to east. The two ends of Royal Mile are Edinburgh Castle and Hollywood Palace, which are important royal residences in Scotland in the past. The Royal Miles of both places became an important road to Edinburgh in the Middle Ages. The area centered around the Royal Mile is called Old Town, and to the north of Prince Street is New Town. When you come to Edinburgh, you must first visit the old city, and then experience the modern side of Edinburgh in the new city.
