One of the earliest monasteries in Lhasa was built in 641 AD. It was laid down by Princess Wencheng and worshipped eight-year-old Buddha statues in the hall. Now, the monastery covers an area of about 4000 square meters and contains a large number of precious cultural relics (not open to the outside world). It is a key national cultural relics protection unit.
