Panlong Cave, formerly known as Xinglong Temple, is located in Panlong Valley. There are five caves in the valley. On the top of the cave, there is a natural Taiji map, in which the dragons and phoenixes are auspicious. Wudong and the Yellow River Stone Forest were formed in the end of Tertiary and the beginning of Quaternary. Because of crustal movement, weathering and rain erosion, the natural caves mainly consist of yellow conglomerate were formed. Panlong Cave is 16 metres deep, 13 metres wide and 3-4 metres high. Its highest point is 8 metres. The constant temperature in the cave is about 17 degrees all the year round.
