This place looks surreal. In autumn the rice fields turn into golden colors and it’s easy to get deeper into the actual terraces. The hike to the top is easy terrain and moderately steep, takes about one hour but it’s definitely worth it.

It was absolutely beautiful! My friends and I went in December, so it wasn't as beautiful as it could have been, but it still was! definitely need to go back when it's green and filled with rice!

The place is really magnificent! We went there only for a day and I regret we didn't stay there in one of the hotels. Will definitely come back!

The Longji rice terraces are amazingly beautiful. My favourite view is from the seven stars and moon viewing area. The Ping’an village located in the midst of the terraces is also very pretty and the wooden houses are very interesting to walk through. There is lots of food and drinks for sale in the village and near the viewing points if you need it. I traveled there during the Golden Week so it was a bit chaotic to leave the mountain after the hike because there was so much traffic. However, the time of year was beautiful because the rice was about to be harvested and was a beautiful yellow colour. I would love to visit in the spring when the terraces are full of water.

A famous sightseeing place just 2hrs from Guilin. The Dragon’s Backbone Rice Terrances are a large-scale terrance group in Guilin, and should be part of anyone’s bucket list when traveling in Guangxi province. Jump on one of the local busses, and enjoy the drive up the mountain. Upon arrival our tour guide collected our tickets, and guided us through the small village.We stopped and watched the traditional show of the villagers. Amazing show I must say. These people stay up in the mountains, far away from everything, and yet they have ways to sustain themselves.Our next stop was the famous rice terrance viewing areas. Before traveling here I’ve watched videos and all, but today I guess wasn’t our day. Somethings in life we can control right? Unfortunately weather isn’t one. So be sure to visit this breathtaking place during the summer time or any other time when the rainfall season is low.
