Located in West Street of Fuzhou City, Wafangdian City, this was the residence of the General's Palace in the middle of Qing Dynasty. In the twenty-fourth year of Qing Daoguang (1844), Zhang Juren of Zhizhou, Fuzhou, initiated the donation of famous local gentlemen to Confucianism, and expanded the mansion into an academy. As the highest University in Gufuzhou, it is known as one of the birthplaces of Fuzhou culture. Hengshan Academy is located in the north and south, covering an area of more than 2400 square meters. It has five portals, five halls, seven East and West chambers, 11 back rooms and 24 years after the Emperor Qing Dynasty (1844). Zhang Juren of Zhizhou, Fuzhou, proposed that the local gentlemen should donate Confucianism and righteousness to expand the residence into the academy. As the highest University in Gufuzhou, it is known as one of the birthplaces of Fuzhou culture. There are six East and West compartments in the local courtyard for the ancients to study.
