Chengtian Temple is located on the east side of Nanjun Lane opposite Chengtian Lane in Quanzhou City, Fujian Province. It is also known as Platform Temple. It was built from the end of Baoda in the Southern Tang Dynasty to the beginning of Zhongxing (957-958 A.D.). It has been renovated many times in past dynasties. It is also known as the three jungles of Quanzhou, including "spotless", "Meishengxiang" and other wonders. In fact, it's not far from the Yuan Temple. It takes about half an hour to follow the navigation. When you first see the mountain gate, it's not so conspicuous. You think it's a small temple, but when you enter it, you have a different world. The entrance to the mountain gate is a 4.6-metre wide, 99.6-metre long, 458.16-metre-wide Yongdao, south of Yongdao, seven Buddhist pagodas with banyan trees planted between them. There are "tower without bird habitat", "banyan without wall", "fly does not face the sky" scenery. On the South wall, there are Master Hongyi's handwriting "Amitabha Buddha in the South" "ascending to the Supreme Tao, gaining the right Dharma flow", "good enlightenment without hindrance, eternal peace" and other Zen enlightenment. On the North wall, there are two stone tablets "Ancient Cast Money Site" and "Revolutionary Site". On the south side of Yongdao lies a stone tablet for the protection of cultural relics of Quanzhou Municipal People's Government. The end of Yongdao turned north into a dense temple building, all sitting north to south. This is different from the general pattern of the temple entrance is the main hall. Turning to the main hall, the central axis of the temple is distributed in turn with the Temple of Heaven, the Hall of Maitreya, the Hall of Majesty, the Hall of Fatherhood, the Hall of Manjushu, and the Eastern Axis: the Yuanchangyuan, the Guangqin Monk Library, the old monastery, the new monastery, the guest hall, the Dragon King Temple, the Five Views Hall, the former site of Nanyuan, the Great Pessimism Pavilion, the Memorial Hall of Master Huiquan, the Zen Hall, the Nirvana Hal There are Kaishan Hall, Zen Hall, Guangxiao Temple, Wang Gong Temple, Liugong Temple, Gong De Hall, Xu Gong Temple and so on on on the West axis. Today there are only Tanyue Wang Gong Temple . The weather was fine, and I felt relaxed and happy walking in it. Chengtian Temple was more like a hermit hiding in prosperity and a place of peace than the visitors of Kaiyuan Temple such as knitting.
