Kan Yuan Dao was a scholar and Gongqing in the middle of the Heian era in Japan. Born in the family of generations of scholars. Being good at Chinese poetry, he is respected by Japanese as the God of learning. The youngest name is Agu, also known as Kan Gong. In 877, he served as a doctor of articles. Deeply endowed with the trust and importance of Emperor Yuduo, he was appointed head of Tibet in 891 (beside the Emperor, he was in charge of documents, court ceremonies, imperial edicts, etc.). In 894, he was appointed as an envoy to the Tang Dynasty, but according to the domestic situation of the Tang Dynasty and the difficulty of crossing the sea, he put forward a proposal to stop sending Tang envoys, so it was not carried out. In 895, he was appointed Zhongnayan and later the Minister of the People's Republic. In 899, he assumed the post of right minister. In 901, Fujihara, the left minister, was demoted to the rank of commander-in-chief and transferred to a remote place because he spoke plainly to the Emperor. After death, he was honored as "Thunder God", "Cultural God". His works include "History of Classical Aggregation of Nations", "Sakahara Grass" "Newly Written Wanyeji" and so on.
