In Madrid we are privileged to be bordering this 1,722 hectare park ( 5 times larger than Central Park and 6.5 times larger than Hyde Park). Full of nature walks, bike lanes, a place to get lost and discover a little bit of nature inside the Capital. You can take the ¨teleferico¨from Parque del Oeste into the heart of the park. If you are interested let me know and I will provide you with more info.
My favorite park in Madrid - It is a natural huge park perfect for a bike ride, a run or just a sunday walk.
The park is closed to the Monte de El Pardo and has an area of 1722.6 ha, including the grounds of the Casa de Campo, which it ceded part of its surface. This doubles the surface of the Bois de Boulogne in Paris, is five times larger than Central Park in New York or 6.5 times larger than Hyde Park in London.http://bit.ly/1paqDxk
Nice for running and biking
Casa de Campo is meh. I could live without it. The tree-filled park crawls with sketchy characters by night (more precisely, prostitutes), so in general, I just steer clear. It may be a great place for a bike ride, but when it comes to a stroll through the park, Retiro is the best choice - hands down.
