Tasson Temple, also known as General Dasson Temple, belongs to Buddhist temples. It was built by Sayaba Maha VII in memory of his father at the end of the 12th century. One theory is that it was built in memory of a brave general of the Angkor Dynasty in its heyday, General Tasson. The temple is surrounded by Kapok trees, and the West Gate can see giant trees wrapping the entire porch. The architectural form of the temple is Barong style. There are also four-sided towers in the temple, while the four-sided towers in the east gate are covered by big trees. This is also one of the scenic spots of Tomb Raider, which is worth visiting. General Dasong Temple is a single-story monument surrounded by three walls. There are entrances on both sides of the East and west. Each entrance has four faces. The face on the right side of the East Tower (facing the temple) is beautifully smiled. The entrance stone pagoda is cross-shaped, with a small room on each side connected to the laterite wall. Pass through the first entrance stone pagoda and walk straight along the corridor on the moat, which is guarded by giant snakes and Jielu Tea. The wall of the second courtyard is built of laterite, and there is a sandstone cross tower at the entrance to the East and west. There are windows on the entrance stone tower, with shallow reliefs carved on the outside of the windows and archs with stone pillars inside. The next courtyard consists of a red earth and sandstone corridor with a corner pavilion with a fake door on it. In the rubble of the courtyard, there are two Tibetan Classic Pavilions, which are built facing the west. The main tower is in the shape of a cross with four arches. Only by climbing into the northern clearing can we clearly see the central sanctuary, courtyard and the Tibetan Sutra Pavilion.
On both sides of the temple, there is an entrance, which is a cross-shaped stone pagoda gate. There are Buddha faces carved on each side of the stone pagoda, similar to the four-sided Buddha on the city gate of Tongwang City. Among them, the portico of the eastern entrance is wrapped by huge roots, like being swallowed up, which is a major feature of Tasson Temple. On the West entrance, you can see the carvings above the entrance. Some people guess that is General Tusson.
There are two doors in Tasson Temple. Usually there are the West Tower Gate to enter the beautiful statue of the goddess. Through the left and right sides of the central palace, there are the ruins of the Tibetan Sutra Pavilion. To reach the East Tower Gate, it is wrapped by a big tree, which makes people feel the great vitality of nature.
Siem Reap, Cambodia. In the middle of the circle, the Tasson Temple is built to commemorate a general and is also an important scene for the movie Tomb Raider. But compared with the Tabulong Temple, it is much quieter and has fewer visitors, so it can take pictures and watch it quietly.
On the east side of the Nirvana Palace, Tasson Monastery was originally a monastery, with traces of monks living around it. The monastery was badly damaged, and the fortified stone gradually cracked. Many places are dissolved because of the use of poor quality limestone stones, and there are many places where the surface is peeled off, which makes people feel the surprising changes of nature and the passage of time unconsciously. The statues of the goddess in this monument are rich and colorful. They depict various movements and gestures. They have rich expressions and are very eye-catching.
Tasson Temple, also known as General Tasson Temple, is also one of the main shooting sites of Tomb Raider. General Tusson is a victorious general. The East Pagoda Gate is the focal point of the whole temple. The whole gate is completely covered by the root system of a big tree. The gate and the tree are integrated, and the four pagodas behind the gate are accompanied by each other for thousands of years.
Saint Sword Temple, Tasson Temple and Bandaikotti were all built during the period of Vanyebama VII, with similar architectural styles. There was also a Khmer smile above the tower gate. The goddess reliefs here have various postures and different looks and dresses. Having combed hair and looking in the mirror, they have a strong sense of life, which is worth looking at carefully. There are also traces of the mixing of Hindu and Buddhist elements in the temples. In order to consolidate their rule, rulers of different times switched between the two doctrines, so the function of temples was adjusted accordingly. Some of the gods and fairies'heads were chiseled into Buddha heads, and some Buddha statues were transformed into Hindu gods. Now look at it and feel something different.
Ta Somtason, not very impressed, because there is no big feature, not afraid that they have forgotten their own past, the most remember is that when taking photos, there has been a little girl selling postcards beside us, counting from 1 to 10 in different national languages. In fact, what she meant was one knife and ten sheets.
