Kramlin Road Prison, abandoned after 1996, became a tourist attraction. In addition to the architectural appearance, most of them are models or simulation scenarios, but after all, it is a prison, it can not be a real scene. When I visited the C wing cell, I didn't turn on the heating. The cold cell was colder than outside. It was so cold that I couldn't concentrate on the explanation. First of all, I don't lament that the British are so fastidious about building a prison. The prison's designer, Charles & Lanyon, is also the designer of the botanical garden greenhouse. When criminals are brought to a room for physical examination, they are given a numbered cloth bag and changed into prison uniforms, which will replace their names and accompany their prison life. The scene here is exactly what it used to be. The tunnel was built in 1849/50, from the prison to the court across the road. It is about 1.5 meters from the ground. In order to prevent prisoners from escaping, the section near the court was reinforced with cement.
A special scenic spot is indeed somewhat gloomy, including a cell, an interrogation room, a cell, and so on, although after so many years, it can still be vividly restored to the scene at that time, which is somewhat creepy.
The prison furnishings were somewhat creepy, but they were a rare experience.
There are not many opportunities like this. In fact, the experience of visiting here is different from that of our country.
