스몰 럭셔리 호텔 앰버서더 취리히(Small Luxury Hotel Ambassador Zurich)

The Ambassador is a newly renovated hotel just off the lake in Zurich. Old town and shopping just minutes away. Train station and tour busses a 30-minute walk Staff was very friendly and the room was very comfortable and clean. WiFi didn't work but got a passcode for the business WiFi instead. Television also had some issues (kept rebooting). But, we chalk that up to a new place. Everything else was great!

A little gem by the lake - everything is tasteful inside the hotel room.

first time in the silk restaurant-and also the last time...my sons vegan curry didn't taste like curry and there where only a few lentils...the vitello had hardly any tonnato...my soup was more a paste and had no flavour at all; my sons cesar salad had no pamesancheese, the sauce was missing and the ratio between lettuce and chicken wasn't balanced...the entrecote café de paris was a childs cut...and had very little cafe de paris on it...not a place i would invite someone in

Nous nous sommes retrouvés au cinquième étage de cet hôtel avec la vue sur l’opéra. Et juste à l’angle d’un carrefour. Malgré les 3 vitrage on pouvait bien entendre le trafic et la musique des voitures qui laisse les vitres en bas pour être sûre qu’on les entend. La chambre était correcte. Le problème était la literie neuve qui n’avaient jamais été lavée avant l’utilisation. Très très désagréable. J’ai passé une nuit épouvantable, car chaque fois que je mettais un pied ou une main hors du lit, une lumière s’allumait. Traumatisant. Pour le petit déjeuner pas de buffet. Un présentoir individuel imposé, sur lequel il y avec du pain sec, très peu de confiture du faux beurre. Pas agréable de pouvoir choisir son petit déjeuner. A j’oubliais, à notre arrivée nous avions reçu un bon pour une boisson au bar. A la sortie de l’opéra soit à 23h nous avons voulu profiter du cadeau. Quand nous sommes arrivés, le bar fermait. Il a fallu insister lourdement auprès du serveur qui ne parlait pas un mot de français pour être servi. Nous nous sommes retrouvés derrière la porte du bar avec nos deux verres à la main. De la part d’un 4 étoiles soi-disant "supérieur", c’est étonnant. Au final triste expérience que je ne renouvellerais pas

**DO NOT BOOK HERE** I was on my honeymoon & we got stuck in Munich due to a snowstorm. All the trains and airports closed, making it impossible to travel to Zurich. I contacted the hotel for a refund since there was not possible way for us to get there and they denied our request. Almost every other hotel would have done something, even a partial refund due to the extreme circumstances. This is NOT a luxury hotel. Luxury hotels do not take advantage of travelers in extreme circumstances. Please please please do not support a business with such low ethics.

I would not stay here again. It is clean but they gave us a room with a tiny window and when I called the front desk to ask for a change the receptionist was not too nice and said I should’ve paid more. It wasn’t worth the price for me..

this is the worst hotel we've been to in 20 years, whether 5 star (ritz, kempinski st moritz, etc) or 2 or 3 star in ten countries. it was an attic single room they called a double. 1.the twin bed was next to wall angled 45 degrees, bumped ones forehead badly if trying to go to bed from the left side where the night table and night reading light was. 2. the horrible revamp to make it look classy was a fake. 3.all lights were linked so reading in bed at night was only possible with night lamp and ALL other five lights blasting, including the ceiling light and 2 hall lights. horrible. their excuse was it was designed that way. 4.when finally 11 pm turning lights out, 2 sharp lights under each bed lit up if one moved, or if blankets touched the floor,...creating 2 metres of light and sharp shadows. phoned desk to be told to stuff pillows and towels to cover the floor lights due to bad design. 5.this isnt even one star! lots. of leather boxes to look "designed" one was 10 inches by 8 inches containing 2 cotton pads for face! totally phony superficial look. every time you turn right at the tiny window you hit your head due to the angled wall, due to stuffing 2 beds into a one bedroom space.and of course no closet space. 5. "free' fridge meant one 2 sfr pack of nuts and a quarter bottle proseco, not renewed nightly. outrageous greed.. 6.their other , ie hotel opera,across the street, fabulous in EVERY way, big windows, high ceilings, superb modest refurbishment.
