바인하우스 뵐러(Weinhaus Wöhler)

Older property that was clean and spacious. We had a late check-in and appreciated the staff's flexibility with that. The only negative was off site parking with about a 5 minute walk.

Conveniently and centrally located in the absolutely gorgeous city of Schwerin, Weinhaus Wöhler has consistently ranked as my favorite boutique hotel. The rooms are impeccably clean and the staff friendly and helpful. The restaurant is top-rated that will delight even the most discriminating palates. History is only a few steps away in this unbelievably beautiful old city.

Not all of the staff was very friendly. I am an American living in Germany, but I am not yet fluent in German, so I asked the lady nicely "Sprechen Sie Englisch?" She brushed me off so quickly and rudely, and promptly ignored me to help another guest...even after the other guest motioned that I was there first. I then explained to her in German that I have a reservation and only wanted to know where I could park. After that she changed her attitude, but it was a horrible first impression. I went back a couple hours later to ask (in German) if I could check in a little early. I was told the check-in time is actually 3pm, not 2pm. However, she did let me check in a little early. The room I got was on the top floor and was more of a suite with windows on 3 sides with cute views. The room and bathroom were very spacious and I was grateful for the fan available, but the free WiFi did not work up there. I paid for the breakfast, and it didn't disappoint. I picked the hotel for the great location, for the earlier check-in time, and because they accept pets. I would've loved the hotel had the reception not been so frosty. I understand I'm just borrowing this country (and that is why I have put quite a bit of effort into learning the language), but the hotel description shouldn't read "multilingual staff" if I'm going to be told rudely they won't speak English.

Ein sehr altes historisches Gebäude sehr gut hergerichtet. Mitten in der Stadt alles fussläufig zu erreichen.

Ok hotel sødt personale - rent og pænt. Meget støj fra gaden- dyner og hovedpuder elendige. Maden i restauranten elendig

Das Hotel war vollkommen ok. Die Zimmereinrichtung ist etwas überholt und könnte moderner eingerichtet sein. Leider ist Montag im Hotel Ruhetag, so das man nicht direkt dort essen konnte. Da mein Zimmer zur Strassenseite hinaus war und man mit offenem Fenster schläft, ist es in der Nacht etwas laut.

Ein sehr angenehmes Hotelambiente. Super freundliches Personal und leckeres Frühstück. Wenn ich nochmal in Schwerin bin, dann komme ich gerne wieder.

Wir waren abends im Restaurant: sehr gutes und leckeres deutsches Essen. Eine gute Auswahl zu vernünftigen Preisen. Nettes, angenehmes Lokal, sehr freundliche und kompetente Bedienung. Wir waren voll zufrieden und kommen gern wieder.

Imødekommende og venlig modtagelse. Hyggeligt og rustikt værelse, med skråvægge, så for nogen måske ikke så godt. For os var det bare en charme mere. Fantastiske kulinariske oplevelser på dette sted. Nytårsaften menu fremragende og meget smagfuld. Vi fandt vine til aftenen i vinbutikken ved siden af. At dette også var muligt, var endnu en positiv oplevelse. Opmærksom betjening i topklasse, så det var en fremragende måde at slutte 2022. Morgenmadsbuffeten var righoldig og frisk, men 16 euro per person er måske lige i overkanten. Men alt i alt et ophold der måske kunne lokke en anden gang. Else og Leif Erik Petersen.
