호텔 ZUID(Hotel Zuid)

I have get a free upgrade of my room. I have had dinner in the restaurant of the hotel and it was great and also fast. The room was very clean and was very comfortable and modern.

Het was een goede ervaring. Lekker ontbijt ook. Vooral de locatie was top.

Ondanks betaling via paypal, ter plaatse opnieuw moeten betalen voor de kamer ! Bij thuiskomst alle documenten doorgestuurd, klacht neergelegd, maar hotel antwoordt slechts een deel terug te zullen betalen, maar doet zelfs dat niet ! Beneden alle peil !!! Dit kan nu toch echt niet ! Is nu al een maand gaande …

We stayed here for 3 nights during Chris**as, as we were visiting family nearby. The hotel and room do look lovely, as per the advertised pictures. There is ample parking and the breakfast is really good. However we felt let down after our stay. Our room (number 28) was really cold, all the time. There was no central heating, only an aircon unit that we occassionally got to blow out heat, but it never warmed the room completely. The bathroom was freezing cold and never dried fully. There is a wind up heating unit in the bathroom that needs to be wound up but it doesn’t dry anything. The bed didn’t have a proper matress, only a thin foam layer on top of a spring box set. Upon arrival (on 24/12), we didn’t receive the warmest welcome. We arrived in what seemed a closed hotel and had to ring the reception bell twice and wait a long time, before someone appeared and rushed us through check-in. It being Chris**as eve, you’d expect something extra, a lovely message or an invitation to join the bar for festivities. But in the first sentence we were told abruptly the restaurant would be closed for the next couple of days due to Chris**as. So it wasn’t the welcome we expected. All other moments we passed the reception/bar area, it was unmanned. During our stay, it honestly felt more like serviced rooms than a hotel. Which is fine if that’s what you’re looking for, but we booked a hotel during Chris**as to get the hotel experience. Chris**as or any other holiday should not be an excuse.

I stayed here on a Thursday night in December. The hotel is a single story building located in rustic setting about a 30 minute walk from the centre of Genk. The room was of a good size and clean and decorated with images of forests, which was pretty cool. I noticed that there were towels the lengths of the window ledge, and the next morning I found out why - there was serious levels of condensation on the window, so there seemed to be issues with ventilation. Nevertheless this didn't take away from the experience. I paid €94 for the room, excluding breakfast (which was an extra €18). So I would say price a bit on the high side for product and location. Staff were very good. The only major drawback lack of public transport in the evenings (there didn't seem to to any buses after 8pm) - so you are faced with a long walk in and out of town.

We had an amazing stay. We were there for two weeks and felt right at home. The owners and staff are so nice. We commented over and over that these were the nicest people we had ever met. They gave us great recommendations and really cared that we enjoyed our stay with them. We couldn’t recommend the Hotel Zuid highly enough!

Thank you Hotel Zuid, we enjoyed a great stay at this lovely boutique hotel, rooms were tastefully decorated, beds were comfy and the breakfast great, all complimented by friendly, welcoming and helpful staff. A thoroughly enjoyable experience, we will definately return.

This hotel was just perfect all round. Great value for money, and had everything we needed from a bar-meal and drinks on arrival, a modern, clean and comfy room, and a lovely breakfast before our onward journey. All staff were friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay again, and would definitely recommend as a stopover on a journey ….. you’ll leave feeling refreshed and rested …!

This was a very short stay before fetching my wife at Brussels Airport the next morning. I had to fix some urgent issues as soon as I arrived so I did not have much time for other things. The parking was spacious and safe. The hotel was nice and tidy. The people working there was friendly and helpful. The room and bathroom was nice and clean. Alltogether a pleasant surprise. I would definitely chose the same hotel in the future.
