Convenient location, nice walk into city centre along the river, hosts are fantastic that they allow you to park up early. But, although bed was clean n comfy the room had stains of damp and mould. Breakfast included but never mentioned at check in n check in was so rushed didn’t feel enabled to question

nice little place, but it's advertised as bed and breakfast. I checked in tonight Thursday 30th November and asked about breakfast only to be told that there was no breakfast on Friday!!!! I would not have stayed here. Room and bed fine.

Stayed with my daughter for University open day. Midway house is your traditional guest house. Excellent value for money , spacious room, super comfy beds ,nice and clean. Friendly owner who offered local recommendations. I wouldn't hesitate to stay again

I stayed here for 2 nights whilst visiting friends in York. My room was room 8 on ground floor. Room very clean and had everything you need, kettle, cups, glasses, Coffee, tea and milk, sugar. I took my own mug with me as prefer a bigger cup. The bed and pillows were very comfortable .Room had small TV (Which did come on randomly at 6am one morning, not sure if I knocked the control or whether it was set up to come on by a previous guest) The ensuite had everything you need with a few small shower gels, soaps and shampoo. Powerful shower. Car parking outside was good. I sat in the lounge both nights and it was also comfortable and had a bigger TV. I didn't have breakfast as had plans both days. Would definitely stay again in my next trip to York. Thank you!

Friendly staff , great breakfast, quiet, clean

Friendly staff, clean and very comfortable rooms, fabulous breakfast ! We were treated to some very good travel advice for the city of York. The chef who cooked our breakfast was very chatty and his breakfasts were fabulous !

Good location (ideal for city centre or TPT). Good room. Great shower. Excellent host, efficient and informative. Great breakfast with veggie option served by friendly and helpful staff member. All round excellent - what's not to like!!

We booked two rooms for one night B&B, one for my partner & I and the other for our teenager. We arrived around 6pm, there was on site parking, free wi-fi, check in was easy, the host was lovely, really informative and so helpful. Both our rooms were en-suite and differed in size & layout but both perfectly lovely. The only, but huge problem was in our room (3) as it was stiflingly hot. We noticed this as soon as we entered the room. There was a fan that we kept on all night, as well as keeping the window open. We had to take the duvet out of its' cover just so we had a thin cotton sheet but unfortunately nothing worked and we had a really uncomfortable nights sleep. I don't know why our room was so hot as our teenager's room was completely temperate & comfortable. The breakfast was first class, plenty of it, perfectly cooked & the service was faultless. We would definitely stay here again but not in Room 3.

I can't say anything bad about this guesthouse. Just got after a 3 night stay. The guest house is a 20 minute walk into the City Centre which was ideal for me but there are regular buses if you need them. I had room 8 which is a spacious double and was spotlessly clean. The bed was very comfortable and I had a good night's sleep each night. Breakfast was delicious and cooked well and more than enough to set up up for the day. My only ****** was the tea tray in the room which whilst being well stocked it had two small tea cups with saucers. I prefer my tea in a mug.
