The Tartan Fox at the Meadmere

What a charming inn with delightful hosts! The place was way beyond my expectations, chock full of antiques and sci-fi paraphernalia. We stayed here for the eclipse but plan to return for the comfort (fireplace!) and lively conversations with our wonderful hosts. Oh, and don’t forget the freshly made 3-course breakfasts! I highly recommend the Tartan Fox!

We had a wonderful stay at the Tartan Fox bed and breakfast. Liza and Mike were great hosts and very accommodating with my dietary and any other requests. The room was nice, clean, and comfortable. The location was close by to restaurants and shops. The morning breakfast was delicious. We could not have asked for a nicer place to stay. Will definitely come back again.

We spent 4 nights here. It was a very pleasant experience. We felt very comfortable. Liza and Mike made exquisite breakfasts from homemade scones each morning accompanied by eggs, sausage, pancakes...pretty much anything we could have asked for. Our room was well appointed, very comfortable bedding, flat screen tv, small refrigerator in the room. I loved the furnishings, antiques, bedding. It was all very comfortable. After breakfast, they packed leftover scones for us to take on our daily excursions and recommended places for us to go and places to eat. A+ over all experience. We would stay again without hesitation.

We reserved The Terrace room for our overnight stay. For a home that was built in the mid 1800's the room was modern and immaculately clean. The bathroom had heated floors and a HUGE floor level walk in shower. Mike told me this was the room they used for guests with disabilities. Very comfortable room with a power recliner and gas fired fireplace/stove. The inn itself has much charm and character. It reminded me of England with the wood work, lower ceilings and doors. I'm 6'5" and I had no problems with the ceiling/door heights. The breakfast was great! Scones were delicious. Eggs benedict was phenomenal! After we returned from dinner my wife and I sat by the fire in the main living room and it was very peaceful relaxing experience. Liza would come in to tend the fire until I let her know I could take care of it. After I went to bed she popped in and chit chatted with my wife. Mike and Liza are incredible hosts and we will be back for another visit

I enjoyed hearing about the history of the home. I enjoyed taking the time to explore the property. Liza and Mike are awesome hosts, and thought of all the details. The breakfast was better than any restaurant. My husband and I were glad we found this place.

We enjoyed the visit the room was very comfortable and breakfast was the best. The room was nicely setup for myself and daughter. Enjoyed the heated bathroom floors, and shower. Will Definity be back again

Mike and Liza are great hosts and really make you feel welcome. The beds are super comfy and bathroom has a heated floor. The main room has a huge fireplace that is wonderful in the evenings. Breakfast is a treat with the best scones at ever. The cranberry white chocolate ones were my favorite.

I'm back home after a stay at the Tartan Fox and I miss it already! The innkeepers are wonderful - warm, knowledgeable about the area, and very interesting people. Our room was elegant and spacious - meticulously clean - and the historic inn is snuggled into tall pines and clearings that are quintessentially New Hampshire, with Mt. Monadnock in the distance and a deer or two in the back. I've always liked a good B&B breakfast and the Tartan Fox will not disappoint - wonderful scones, eggs and pancakes, not to mention good coffee. My husband and I recommend this inn highly. There are fewer and fewer B&B's around and this one is a gem.

The gardens were lush from the rain and the welcome was warm and inviting. My room was beautifully appointed and the bathroom was lovely. And the breakfasts! Homemade scones, coffee and tea, fruit bowl and buttermilk pancakes one day, eggs Benedict the next. Fabulous! And the hosts could not be friendlier or nicer!
