Hotel nice but the beefeater for food was average. Breakfast not good and staff inattentive.

a lovely hotel with an excellent pub next door, its in a great area near fox's marina, some would be lovely on a good day

Stayed as a family when our son was taking part in a nearby sporting event. Friendly staff, clean room, efficient service. We wouldn't choose it for a romantic weekend away for two, but it suited our purposes perfectly.

Another very comfortable stay here for a couple of days visiting family as this is my regular hotel as I know what I’m getting and the staff here are so friendly highly recommended. I tell anyone that asks me about Ipswich about this place and if your lucky you’ll get a lovely view too.

Welcoming and friendly staff make this a good night's stay. It is an old building and, accordingly probably one of the few Premier Inns where you can hear adjacent/above/below rooms. This didn't affect my stay too much, and I slept fine. Breakfast was fantastic, freshly cooked and served hot. The lady managing breakfast runs a tight ship and opened the door just before 7am for me. Would recommend for a fry up.

It was lovely out in the country by the Orwell you cd smell the river in the early morning went for a walk by it fun loved the wild look at the back the hotel was nice u got the personal touch unlike the more commercial town ones the manger was very pleasant all the staff were the good was excellent and the restaurant lovely decor the only readon o didnt go back there the prices had risen and i felt seemed a bit of a steep rise in such a short time and a littke bit far out

I stayed last weekend and am currently trying to check in for this weekend. Last weekend no one was at the desk for nearly 15mins when I arrived at 10pm. Someone from the Beefeater adjacent had to find someone for me. The bell at reception did not work. My booking for 2 Nights last week was only held for one night and I had to reactivate my key card for the second night. Now, having arrived just after 8pm (it is now 8.26) I still do not have a room despite having a reference number and an email. The room was booked in someone else’s name and last week that name was changed to mine. I gave my name initially and then, once I found the email that was forwarded onto me with the booking reference, I explained to the desk person that it may be in the other persons name. I gave them the reference AND my phone so they could see the email and the name of the booker etc. This seemed baffling to them and after many minutes of silence I asked, exasperated, to be put into a room as after a 3 hr drive I just wanted to get settled. I cannot understand why checking into this premier inn in both weekends has been challenging and problematic. I often stay in Premier inns around the country and these are often booked by other people and the check in is smooth and welcoming. To top things off, having now arrived in my room, it’s is freezing at 13.5 degrees! Really the poorest of experiences.

I visit Ipswich a couple of times a year and rather than long drive home stay overnight. It is sad to to arrive here and see the car park full of workman’s vans. The Premier inns around Ipswich have become cheap accommodation for working men and not the relaxing stay portrayed on the tv adverts. On recent visits the people are leaving/entering from 4am, slamming doors and talking in corridors. This also happens late in to the night. It is a shame that I can no longer stay because of the disturbance as in general Premier Inn is excellent value and rooms always clean. On this occasion the heating was not working in room and couldn’t be offered a different room as it was full. Was given a small radiator to heat room. This has become somewhere I will no longer stay.
