Hotel Belvidere

An absolute gem in a small, quaint NJ town. We stayed in a suite which included a living room, pull out couch, and kitchenette. The bed was a comfortable queen in a good sized room with large windows that looked out onto a wrap around porch. The continental breakfast had tons of choices and two coffee stations which kept the waiting to a minimum. A recently renovated building which dates to 1835, you will be charmed and impressed with the service and your entire visit.

What a cozy hidden gem! In town for a wedding and not comfortable with reviews of our usual brand hotel we chose three rooms in The Belvidere based upon its many favorable reviews. Justin and Jennifer were always there to greet us and were so hospitable and accommodating. The rooms were immaculate, appeared to be recently renovated along with the bathrooms and the bedding was comfy. Free self serve breakfast had all the choices of the brand hotels. Surrounded by a cute little step back into time town. We are planning to return for a family golf outing some time soon as we found good courses in the surrounding area as well.

Loved this historic hotel in a great location. It had comfy beds and a good breakfast. It was within walking distance of several restaurants too. The couple that runs the hotel works hard to make your stay a great one. We would definitely stay here again.

If this place was anywhere else it would be a $200 room, It is an excellent Hotel that was beyond what I expected when booked and I booked because it was a wow factor .I have nothing bad to say about this Hotel rooms were great very clean , location for us was excellent . Only thing some people may not like is it is a little laid back as it is a help yourself for continental breakfast lots to choose from was not disappointing at all

This place was super unique. We’ve never stayed at a privately owned hotel so we weren’t really sure what to expect. The area felt generally safe to us, we even walked around the neighborhood at night to look at all the Halloween decorations. It’s easy to find and easy to get to. It definitely has that old timey Grandma feel when you walk in the front door. They do not check in after 9 unless you have permission to do so. We received a text on our way up there to remind us of that. (We were able to tack on a day at the beginning of our trip when we called them on our drive up there.) Just a few things that we made note of- there is a staircase to the back entrance to the upstairs and a staircase in the front as well. I’m not sure how easy it would be for people to go in and out if they have issues with steps, so keep that in mind and check with the hotel about accommodations for that or if they have first floor rooms. Our door had a lock but I would have liked there to be a latch as well, like most hotels have- just to have peace of mind. They had vertical blinds but no curtains in our room. For safety reasons alone, even if the area seemed okay, I would have liked that extra security. We never really saw anyone until we came looking for new towels, which was taken care of right away. You have to request room service if you’d like to have that. You get a key for your hotel room along with a key to get in the front and back entrance. Parking was easy, they have a nice large blacktopped area. We had to pay up front for the days we were scheduled and you need to keep in mind, no refunds if you cancel without a 48 hr notice.

Morning breakfast was supposedly to open at 7 am , didn’t open til 10:30 am which meant no coffee, unacceptable, window blinds were missing pieces , there is a balcony around hotel, anyone could walk by and look into room , so I took the extra blanket in closet and hung over window to have privacy, a little attention to detail need to be done , or get out of the hotel buisness

This was a fairytale, the best bed in which I slept in over a decade definitely recommend this wonderful gem

Excellent location for exploring historic Belvidere. Charming 1831 building very nicely modernized. Plenty of parking on site. Breakfast is pretty much Continental, plus yoghurt and cereal.

Quant hotel. No one was around for checkin. I had to call and person came out. Checkin was ok. Our room was cute and clean but the window had up and down slats shades and 3 slats were missing. Since people could walk by window it was a problem. I opened closet door and put towel over window. Desk person told me it was new owners and they hadn’t had chance to fix. Privacy is a big deal.
