This is a bang average Premier Inn, with an independent pub next door, as you can only eat breakfast in the hotel. Our room was hot - there was a fan provided which was noisy and meant we didn’t get great sleep as we needed to have it on all night. There are unfortunately no adjoining rooms which meant our family of 4 with 2 teenage boys had to sleep in the same room, which felt small with the 4 of us. The main issues here were the lack of WiFi and some of the senior staff members’ surly attitudes. They aren’t the friendliest bunch. We effectively had no internet for 4 days. The free WiFi didn’t work for us. We had 5 phones between us on different networks and couldn’t get the free WiFi on any. There is also very poor network coverage in the area - very slow 3G - so no internet which was a problem. I brought this issue up twice during my stay. I would have brought it up more, however there wasn’t anyone visible at reception whenever I passed through. On day 2/3 I managed to speak to someone on reception as I passed, and they said that the WiFi was working but was coy about saying that there had been an issue…I told them that it hadn’t been working and they intimidated it had been fixed - felt like they’d been told not to admit there was an issue. Still no WiFi and I couldn’t even log into paid WiFi. Kept receiving web page warnings that my connection wasn’t private and security warnings about the connection. On checkout I spoke to a senior member of staff to let them know the issues and that I’d spoken to another staff member during my stay about this. I was told that the staff member I spoke to “shouldn’t have said there was an issue” and they also became quite defensive intimating that the issue was with our 5 different devices, not their WiFi. This annoyed me as there was no apology. If she had admitted that they’d had an issue and wasn’t so defensive I probably wouldn’t have left this review.
