This is probably the best guest house that my family and I have stayed in, and this is all because of Mark and Karen. Their impeccable hospitality, kindness, friendliness, and just going the extra mile to make you feel comfortable makes your stay at the guest house such an amazing experience. The guesthouse is rustic and really beautiful, and the food is excellent. They also have a deli and I can highly recommend their homemade jams and chutney, and my son's highly recommend the fudge, and all this is made by Mark. Mark and Karen are fantastic hosts. And whenever I am in Wakkerstroom on business it is a must stop over for me. I could not recommend it more, the location, the food and the hospitality. Must come back over a weekend to experience the full town coming to life.

What an amazing overnight stay we had at DeKotzenhof. Before we even arrived our hosts had been in touch to check on our safe arrival and dietary requirements. The guesthouse is spacious and the room first class. Lovely garden to relax in. A complimentary sherry was included in the room...a nice touch. The guesthouse has an old world feel to it with lovely wooden decor and furniture. But the best was the food prepared by the hosts. Out of this world cuisine...both dinner and breakfast. Highly recommended and great value for money. A final touch was to receive a message inquiring whither we had reached home safely. Much appreciate. I can highly recommend Dekotzenhof. Love staying here. I go to Wakkerstroom often and stay at various places, but DeKotzenhof is definitely my favorite. The lamb shank is to die for and the hosts are amazing. The place is neat and central.

I’ve stayed in DeKotzenhof a few times now. Mark and Karen are great hosts and the the rooms are clean and full of character. Mark is a great cook and the food is unbelievable. I’ve travelled to Wakkerstroom regularly and tried a few restaurants there - DeKotzenhof is head and shoulders above the rest!

Our stay at Dekotzenhof in Wakkerstroom was an absoluut surprise for us, both people wise and the surrounding landscape. What was first planned as a pits stop to Johannesburg became a truly gem in the African experience. Karen and Mark gave a warm welcome and lots of advice to explore the unique surroundings and nice surprises in Wakkerstroom.

We had a lovely stay at DeKotzenhof. Karen and her husband are very friendly, and will definitely walk the extra mile. You will see us soon again.

I stayed for two nights, 4 - 6 Dec 2022, with two clients on a birding tour. Mark and Karen did a great job, attending to our needs with great attention to detail. We ate there on the first night, and the food was great, and the breakfasts were excellent too. All in all very good.
