Hotel Plazuela de San Agustín - PSA Hotel

Great cozy hotel with a great location! We loved our stay, especially the breakfast outside in the pergola. This is one of the oldest hotels in Villa de Leyva, and is run quite well. Walking distance to many great restaurants and the central plaza.

This review concerns the restaurant only, as we have not stayed at the hotel. We decided to go despite lackluster reviews. We'd already been to their restaurant once before, 3 years earlier, and we had a positive experience the first time. The place is beautiful, candlelit, cozy and inviting and it has so much potential but clearly, the current management is not interested in living up to that potential, shame! The food wasn't badf but the service is disinterested. We ordered some starters and two main courses. The starters were ok, but nothing special. For the main course, we ordered a specific side of potatoes that were on the menu (not french fries). The dishes arrived with french fries and only when I asked why did they say; 'oh, we don't have those'. The lomo, which we ordered medium rare came very well done and dry and hard. My husband pointed out that this was not how we ordered it and sent it back and asked for a new one. The waitress came back 2 minutes later saying "no, the chef says this is medium rare"! And also, if you want another one, it will take about 30 mintes as we are very busy! Now, we were one of only 3 tables in the whole restaurant, so if that's busy, I don't know how they'd handle it is they were full. But, given the reviews they get, I assume that doesn't happen all that often! (In fairness, they did not charge us for the meat, but still!) We declined the 30-minute replacement meal, finished what we did get and then ordered dessert, to which the waitress responded: "Oh, we don't have dessert!" OMG!! This place does not take either themselves or their customers seriously, clearly! At the end of the meal, we were the only customers left and it seemed the staff couldn't get rid of us quickly enough. The waitresses and the kitchen staff left right away, some of them before us, leaving only one poor guy behind to take care of the cleanup. This could be an amazing restaurant, but clearly some changes need to be made in the kitchen, service staff and management!

He ido varias veces al hotel y pienso seguir haciéndolo. El servicio, la comida y las habitaciones son excelentes. El ambiente es lo mejor: las noches frente a la chimenea o los días en la terraza, son inolvidables. Lo recomiendo ampliamente para hacer de la estadía en VdL una experiencia memorable!

Mi estancia con mi pareja durante dos semanas la califico de excepcional, una experiencia única en un ambiente colonial español romántico, inigualable e inolvidable. Sin duda el mejor hotel de mi estancia en Colombia. Ir a Villa de Leyva y no hospedarse en sus magníficas instalaciones significa no haber experimentado el carácter colonial y romántico clásico en su máximo esplendor. Adentrarse en sus instalaciones es como volver siglos atrás, vivir una época ancestral en unas comodidades y servicios contemporáneos de alta calidad. La decoración y ambiente cuidado de las habitaciones al mínimo detalle es digno de alabar. No os perdáis el tour que os ofrece los dueños, contando la historia del hotel y los detalles de la cuidada reforma y restauración al estilo colonial realizada por ellos mismos, al igual que la oportunidad de pasear por su patio floral, balcones coloniales, leer un buen libro en la antigua biblioteca de un antropólogo reconocido o enfrente de la chimenea del salón restaurante. El servicio es magnífico, y todo pensado al mínimo detalle; desde el desayuno/brunch excepcional y nutrido, difícil de olvidar, a las sorpresas en la cesta de panes y postre diarios, al igual que los pequeños regalos como dulces y chocolates locales dispuestos elegantemente en la cama después del segundo servicio del equipo de bienestar al atardecer. Todo el personal es superamable y muy servicial. Ideal para escapadas de pareja, vacaciones familiares y eventos.

De los mejores hoteles en los que hemos estado. Su arquitectura, diseño, ubicación y ambiente son inmejorables. La atención del personal, que en su mayoría son mujeres, es excelente. El desayuno, incluido en el valor de la habitación, es muy completo, muy bien preparado y servido. La habitación en excelente condición, con batería de baño moderna.
