플라야칼리다(Playacalida)

This was a return stay at the Playacalida after staying last year. Once again a fantastic relaxing stay, hotel was spotless, food good - always able to find something and majority of it delicious. After reading other reviews we have to disagree and say staff were all friendly and helpful in both pool bar and restaurant. They did not show any preference for serving Spanish guests first. The kids love the pools but the infinity and lazy river were very cold, maybe it's just the time of year. We would definitely stay again and would recommend if you want a holiday just to relax. If you want action packed this is probably not the place for you unless youre willing to hire a car and drive around.

We stayed at the hotel from 6th - 10th May and reading some of the other reviews, I wonder if they stayed in the same hotel. When we arrived there was an issue with our booking (holiday company's fault not the hotel) and they were amazing, made sure we had everything we needed, upgraded our room and made us feel welcome. The hotel is situated quite a way from other places but for us (myself and my 11 year old) it was perfect as we just wanted peace and quiet. There is a park nearby which we walked through to reach a lovely cafe and a small shop. The hotel is spotless and the staff are lovely (whether you are English or not!) yes some of the food isn't to my taste but I was never hungry and the fresh salads, breads etc were amazing. The pool area is gorgeous, infinity pool is fantastic as well as the lazy river and the indoor pool is decent too. As we were leaving early on friday we were offered breakfast but I had already arranged for something else. In conclusion....this is not a party hotel, this is a place to go to relax/chill out and enjoy being away from home. The service we received was fantastic.

The hotel is very clean, when you check in they do not tell you where anything in the hotel is, and there aren’t any maps or signs, the whole week most of the staff seemed moody like they do not want to be there,the infinity pool amazing, rooms ok not enough sockets only one, the hotel is not close to anything, you can get a bus to the town and seafront lots of lovely restaurants and a few shops, entertainment was diabolical poorly done unlike many other hotels in Spain, the rooms where very clean. The food was repetitive and poor, under cooked meat, and the snack bar between meals is not what most people would class as a snack bar, more like leftovers from lunch, all in all this is not a 4star hotel, I would not stay again

We have just checked out of the Playacálida after a truly wonderful 5 days. We travelled as a family from England and had the best time. Our room was lovely and quiet with a stunning view of the sea, beds made up each day. The pools are amazing and so much fun for the kids (aged 12 and 9). Food was lovely. Infinity pool was out of this world with spectacular views!! Staff very friendly. We also visited the spa and children are allowed in at certain times- we all loved it. Have recommended to friends already and we will certainly not hesitate to return to this hotel, can’t wait to come back! Thank you

This is our second visit here. A great stylish, family hotel. Spotlessly clean with large rooms, comfy beds and excellent in-room facilities, including the softest bathrobes I have ever encountered. Fairly quiet in March and the pool temperatures were cold (to be expected) but the children didn't notice and we all had fun as we kept moving through the water and down the slides. Infinity pool is spectacular with views over the bay. Lots of different entertainment facilities through the day and evening - all staff were great. Buffet breakfast was very good with freshly cooked omelettes and a range of everything you could want. Children very well catered for. Evening meal was ok. Chef freshly cooked steaks etc, which were excellent, and all the cold dishes were very good. Veg and potatoes etc that were 'under the heated lights' were only lukewarm. But this is common with many hotel buffets. An excellent choice for couples or families - high quality hotel at reasonable prices. Will come again.

Absolutely loved our time here . Still looking now to book again . Waiting for any offers to come up. As we would love to ho back. Great staff,fab food amazing pools x mini golf and jaccuzzies . Just pure bliss. Want to try and do some spa trea**ents next time . We were out exploring most days so didn't get round to it. The markets in the town are worth a visit x

Just had a five day break in this hotel. Although the hotel was nice, very clean and the infinity pool was picturesque. The staff weren’t so friendly & I found them rude & abrupt and felt that as we weren’t Spanish we had to wait longer to ever get served. I was standing for 5 minutes at the bar inside the hotel before I was even acknowledged. The breakfasts was lovely but found the evening meals standard. I even complained on a few occasions that the chefs were not cooking the meat properly. My daughter went to bite into her pork kebab on a skewer one night & it was raw, took it to the chef & he just snatched it out of my hand. Lovely hotel but due to poor customer service I would not return.
