Mercure York Fairfield Manor Hotel

It is expected to arrive at the hotel by car. It is really convenient to do park and ride in York. The hotel room was spacious and clean, and the most important is that it is pet friendly too, with an extra £15 per night for the pet.

The reason we booked this hotel because of the convenience of parking, despite seeing some honest, unsatisfied reviews. I am disappointed after staying for 3 nights, I would not go there again. Disappointment: 1.the room really needs some work to do, such as sash window couldn't open after asking for help to shut it, the thermostat was off the wall and the tap needed turning for ever to get the water out. 2. No aircon or ventilation system in place. The window was important for fresh air which did not serve the purpose. 3. The reception was informed about these problems on arrival, she (the bleached hair local girl) was not bothered by. She asked us to turn the radiator off after she was informed the thermostat was off the wall. She was not bothered by the faulty facility and did not mention asking someone to have a look or fix. I had to give her a point that she said not to touch it. She is unlike the other staff who were clearly care and helpful. 4. Super small television 5. Dirty drink tray 6. Chipped mug Good points 1. Bar service was good, especially the evening staff. 2. Quiet at night time 3. Bed was nice, not hard and not soft. General impression: It was not good value for the money, £400 for 3 nights.

Everything was great! Good location and easy access to all local amenities and site seeing. Quiet hotel and set in nice grounds.

We went down for our 5th anniversary, we arrived and the outside building looked really nice. when we got to our room, the light in the toilet was leaking and it had flooded the bathroom, we changed rooms but the only room they had available was 2 single beds

前台服務生給人賓至如歸的感覺還在uber不給力的時候幫忙叫車，非常感謝！

房間整潔，位置不錯

On the positive side the reception staff were first class-friendly and efficient.But this hotel which i remember as top class in the 1990s-is stuck there.The fabric of the building seems to be collapsing.A large stain on the ceiling of the bedroom,cracks in windows in communal areas and wallpaper pealing off walls(see images below)My partner said it reminded her of a hotel in communist Bulgaria.Notably below the standard you would expect from a Premier Inn for £151 for one night.And-if you want to drown your sorrows your options are limited.The bar closes at 11pm prompt-whether the hotel is full or not.Such a shame-nice building let down by clearly a total lack of investment

There was a wedding at the hotel during our stay. Needed to be more staff given the wedding. Took quite a while to check in, not enough bar staff, gents toilets needed a good clean mid evening. Only one set of towels, despite our booking being for two. Good and restaurant service for dinner and breakfast was excellent.
